Peace Cottage Community Hub

Help us raise funds for the new Peace Cottage project based at Hoddesdon's Quaker meeting house! This community project will provide support and services to local people in need whilst promoting well-being, friendship and engagement with arts and culture as we recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our site includes a large garden space, a Grade II listed meeting house designed by a Quaker architect in 1829, and an arts and crafts era community hall built in 1929.  After being closed for several years, we need to make improvements to the site in order to relaunch it as a community centre and garden.

Contributing to this fundraiser will...

- Help us build the community garden, complete with accessible raised beds, sensory plants and places for quiet reflection, learning and listening.

- Allow us to renovate and modernise spaces within our building, ensuring we have flexible, multi-functional spaces that can be used by large and small groups.

- Enable us to install a new eco-friendly heating system and insulation to ensure the site will be warm and welcoming for decades to come.

All donations gratefully received... £5 could buy us a plant for the garden... £20 could buy us a tin of paint... £100 could buy us a new radiator...and £1000 could buy us a new shed!

The Peace Cottage Project brings together a wide range of community partners, including the local Churches Together group, and Hertford and Hitchin Quakers, who own the site.  All funds donated to this Go Fund Me campaign will go directly to the Peace Cottage Project.
