Hello, my name is Ola Khomyk. I was born in Ternopil, Ukraine and immigrated to US when I was 10. Today I reside in Croton on Hudson, NY. I have created this fundraiser to provide urgent help and support in the face of an extreme and unforeseen situation in Ukraine. Today, the sovereign nation of Ukraine has to deal with the most horrendous and catastrophic emergency – a brutal invasion.

Together with local NY volunteers, we provide and deliver emergency medicine items, emergency food items, tactical survival equipment, and tactical clothing.

Some examples of items in need are trauma kits, sleeping bags, emergency blankets, water filtration tablets, backpack water pouches, military boots size 9-12,  boot socks, tactical knee pads, tactical flashlights, two-way radios with privacy codes, and solar chargers).

 

The first round of funds raised will be used to pay for baggage fees to transport via commercial airline from NYC to Warsaw, Poland. From Warsaw volunteers will take items across the border to Lviv and distribute them where there is high priority. The rest of the donations from our Amazon wish list and the Holy Name of Mary church fundraiser will go to a logistics company Meest in Clifton, NJ that will deliver the items to Lviv, Ukraine. We will use the funds left for transport fees.

 

The goal is to take 100 bags on the first trip which is $135 per bag airline fee, that is $13,500 just in baggage fees.

They are shipping from Chicago via a cargo plane but have many drop locations in Midwest and California.
