Despite continued efforts, breast cancer is still a spectra which casts a long shadow over the lives of thousands  of people and their loved ones. It's something too big for any one force to take on, so it's up to all of us, in our communities, to find ways to fight on!

At the age of 36, my oldest sister Ali Cruso Lucas, mother of 2 (4 & 18months) has been recently diagnosed with aggressive stage 3 breast cancer. 

Ali and her husband were anticipating a fresh start and new beginnings this upcoming year.  They just purchased a new family home that is a fixer upper and are excited to get into and living as soon as possible. 

With the news, Ali, Jason her husband, their two daughters, and all loved ones, have had to adapt to the news. 

Things are moving quickly for this family. Ali will be starting her Chemo Therapy on Thursday (Oct 17th) and is on the track to be receiving treatment for at least a year. 

The reason I am starting this GoFundMe is because my 2 other siblings and I, Elizabeth & James will be running a 5k on November 10th  hosted by the Westerly Land Trust in Avondale Farm Preserve, Westerly RI. 

We had decided that it would be a great idea to run for a cause! Showing support and bringing awareness to breast cancer is just one of the several things that we can do as family & a community  to help Ali.

A little bit can go a long way to help Ali and her young family get through this difficult time.  All proceeds will go directly to her upcoming medical bills and childcare.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
