This family does not know we are doing this so I would like to surprise them.

Surprise sounds wonderful and joyful but this is indeed a horrible situation. One of our preschool students is just recently here in Calgary with her mom and new baby. Her Dad and 4 siblings stayed in Ukraine to finish some things before joining them here in Canada. The hope was they would be reunited this winter / spring. Those plans have been wiped out. Now her Dad and siblings flee for Poland amongst the violence and fighting. The trip is beyond challenging as roads are congested and gas is scarce and beyond expensive when it is available. The scariest part is if they reach the Poland border and if Poland agrees to take them in there is a very likely chance that Dad will not be permitted to cross the border as he will be expected to stay and fight. This will force the 4 children, 2 of whom are older teenagers / young adults, to cross over into Poland alone with very little. I would like to do a rapid fundraiser for this family to help both parents and sets of children. If you would like to participate we will be accepting donations via GoFundMe. We are hoping this will help this family safely reunite and provide food & necessities for them. We will be calling this our Sunflower Project as it is our national flower in Ukraine. My grandparents came here from Ukraine and I am very proud of my heritage. Thank you for your support.
