PCT invites you to join our mission in honoring the cherished memory of Matthew Bittker by helping us fund research for Neuroblastoma and other types of pediatric cancer to get us one step closer to finding a cure.
The Matthew Bittker Foundation has partnered with PCT to hold an annual 5K in honor of Matthew, a happy and vibrant little boy who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma in 2006 at the age of 6. After enduring intense chemotherapy, surgery, radiation and other treatments Matthew responded well, however, this insidious cancer came back and after 18 months, Matthew lost his battle with cancer on July 20, 2007. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of courage, determination, and humor that continues to inspire us all. After Matthew passed away, the Matthew Bittker Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity organization, was established as a living tribute to the warm-hearted boy who touched so many in his short life. The Foundation is dedicated to funding research for pediatric cancers including Neuroblastoma to bridge the funding gap that favors proposals considering number of incidents rather than number of life years saved. We need to provide the children hope they can become adults, and together we are making a difference!
