Let me tell you a story. This girl named Kelley has always had a heart for Jesus. She always knew she was led to be a Mother and has such high value for the amazing role Godly women play as Moms. At about 12 or 13 when serving in the Children's Ministry it became so apparent that God knitted this deep in her soul, the drive to bear and raise her own little blessings. At school she would make lists of names she might give her future sons or daughters. She has known this has always been her most deepest calling after following Jesus. She faithfully anticipated the day when she would welcome a little baby into this world.
In 2017 she married her best friend, a man she knew would always be there for her, who made her laugh constantly, who she was very attracted to. She married a man she was so deeply in love with and they were a blessing from God to each other. At an annual physical she described to her doctor how she had irregular cycles, to which the doctor sent her to get some tests performed. The results came back and the doctor called her in to talk to her about them personally, which she worried meant something was wrong, but she didn't think anything too serious was going on. The doctor sat her down and described to her that her results showed that she had PCOS, a reproductive condition, and that it would be difficult for her to conceive and she would need to see a fertility specialist if she planned to have children.
She was heartbroken, it felt like here biggest dream and deepest calling was ripped away, she struggled with the thought that she might never have kids. Never the less, three years into her marriage her and her husband decided that they would just have faith and start trying for children. Six months into trying for kids she went into the bathroom to take another test, another one in a long painful line of negative tests. She squelched any anticipation or hope knowing that would make the pain of another negative test worse, then taking the test she waited again with even the littlest bit of hope for two lines. As the three minute timer expired, she dared not look before the three minutes was up, she took the test off the bathroom sink and looked to see what the verdict was. One line. Agony... Disappointment... Grief... The tears flowed freely and she felt deep despair, she felt empty inside.
Three months after that last negative test that stripped her of all hope, she started feeling cramps and this lasted for two and a half weeks without the beginning of her cycle. She recalled her sister in law telling her that she had had cramps and soon after discovered that she was pregnant. Kelley decided she would take one more test, but had no hope or anticipation of a positive result. Three minutes up... time to look. She looked down in disbelief, she felt a flood of emotion, she was speechless, she was ecstatic, her heart was beating out of her chest... two lines! She couldn't believe it, she cried out in her heart with gratitude, thanksgiving, and worship to the God that does miracles! She couldn't wait to tell her husband.
It was early in the morning and he was getting ready for work so she waited for him to come sit next to her on the couch. He set his breakfast down and was about to begin, so she took her chance. She asked him if she were to buy him a tshirt, which one of two would he like better. The first said, "Feedom & Family & FATHERHOOD!" The second said, "I am a freedom loving Dad, like a normal Dad except much cooler." He looked at the choices for a couple minutes thinking about his answer. Then it donned on him, he wheeled around to look at his beautiful wife and asked, "Are you pregnant!?!?" With an expression of glee she nodded yes excitedly! They both stood up to embrace each other and share in the joy and excitement, they held each other tight in the happiest moment of both of their lives so far! Kelley was pregnant with their miracle baby. As God opened the womb of women in scripture God opened Kelley's womb with this incalculable blessing.
This story is amazing it shows that God loves us all, that He is alive, and still rolling stones away, He still does miracles. This story is fantastic, but here's the kicker... it is all true. My wife and little miracle baby show me His love for us and I thank God for them. Now to the reason you are reading this GoFundMe.
Coronavirus hit us all like a freight train. Even before Covid I was struggling to make ends meet in an economy that seemed to perpetually get harder. Kelley as well did her best, but we rarely found ourselves in jobs that had very high wages, or even benefits. With the hesitance to go to a hospital, we began looking at other options. We found a wonderful woman who is a licensed Midwife and one of the highest recommended in our area. She is highly trained and highly skilled to allow the blessing of having our child at home surrounded by family. We are so grateful that we found her, and she was even able to work with our financial situation to help us to be able to receive her services. Then January happened.
First a small issue with my car turned into a major expense that required us to reach out to family just to keep the wheels on the road getting me to and from work. To make matters worse, a major contract at work fell through and I lost basically all my hours. Then, which seems almost improbable, the Covid variant Omicron was spreading like a shockwave throughout California and both Kelley and I got it. This took her out of work now, as we both spent time at home nursing this terrible illness. I was laid up for two weeks and Kelley was under for about a week and a half. Once the car got fixed I was glad driving to a new part time job that is a modest increase in wages, still no benefits, but a hiccup came about when my check engine light came back on. I'm hoping I will be able to fix it myself because I don't think I can swing another mechanic visit. In the mail, I received vehicle registration and a couple work certifications that needed to be renewed, which working in my field is very expensive for my wages. Needless to say, the start of 2022 has been rocky.
We are asking for your help to pay for the medical expense that will go to our Midwife to care for Kelley and our new baby when she is born. Did I mention, it's a girl, and we are going to name her Faith, she is due to arrive April 26th! To care for Kelley and Faith it will cost $5,000 which is a discount we were able to work out with our Midwife because she sees we are committed and excited to exploring this journey of Kelley giving birth at home so whole heartedly. We agreed to put $3,000 down and pay the rest off monthly over time. We are asking for help because as I am searching to get a loan for the downpayment, I am finding it harder and harder in this financial season of an unprecedented economy. Family and community are always supposed to hold each other up and I know that we will receive everyones love and support one way or the other. God is good, and we believe faithfully that He will provide for us in all things. If you are unable to help, then we know we will be in your thoughts and prayers, and we know prayer is an action word, God honors faithful prayer in Him. So in any case we are grateful to you for listening to our story and loving us whatever way God leads you to.
We are asking for the $3,000 downpayment to be able to make it on time and faithfully compensate our wonderful Midwife for her love, support, and excellent medical care. We have faith that God will lead you in however you decide to support us. He has done miracles in both our lives and we are absolutely certain He can and will do miracles in our lives in the future. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our story and request, we thank God and we thank you ahead of time knowing whatever your answer is it will be a blessing to us. I hope our testimony of the miracle of love that is our baby girl soon to be born has inspired you and encouraged you. If you are like us struggling to get pregnant please never give up and know that God is a miracle worker and can do for you what He has done for us. God bless you richly according to His perfect will.
