Makenna's Eagle Scout Project
Donación protegida
My name is Makenna Rodolph, but some of you may know me as Mighty Makenna.
UPDATE 7/29 – IN NEED OF HELP‼️
My Eagle project is so close to being done! I want to start by thanking all of my scoutmates who have helped me put this project together and all of those who donated legos and funds to make this possible. I have spent the past two weeks perfecting the Lego mural and developing the seek-and-find list, which amounted to around 150 items! This morning I dropped the mural off at the framing company to be built into a custom shadow box, which, per recommendation of the the hospital, will also have a 4 inch mat around the edge and special non-reflective glass so it can be easily seen by all. Unfortunately, after seeing the full project, the framing shop adjusted their price and it’s quite a bit higher than initially quoted. In order to pay for the costs of the framing, I need about 900 dollars more in monetary donations. Please help me by sharing this GoFundMe and my story wherever you can on your personal social media accounts or with those you think would be willing to help. I know with a little effort we can finish this project!
A little bit of exciting news in the meantime: I have also been speaking to the hospital’s media team and they are enthusiastic about having several (even larger) news stations in attendance when we finally are able to present and display the project! I am so excited for this day to come and thank you in advanced for helping make it possible.

How YOU Can Help!
Although my project heavily relies on lego donations, money is also needed to support the costs of framing, baseplates, glue, and specific/supplemental lego parts. Anything you can donate helps, thank you!
About My Project
I will be building a colorful mural made of Legos that spells out the word HOPE. The mural will also serve as a seek-and-find activity, such as asking kids to find 2 pink flowers and 1 yellow mug. The exact items to find will depend on donations. The project is benefiting the Children’s Hospital of Colorado, specifically the south campus in Highlands Ranch. To the left is a picture of a small-scale model that I built.
About Me
As a cancer survivor myself, I always knew I wanted to give back to a Children’s Hospital. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 8th, 2015, just before my eighth birthday. Throughout my journey, Legos were a huge source of support for me, and I have carried that love with me even as I have gotten older. These experiences significantly shaped who I am today and I adore how this project reflects my personal story while sharing the same sense of hope from Legos with other children and families going through significant medical treatment.
Lego Donations
For lego donations, we are looking for random pieces- especially those that are small, colorful, and unique- NOT LEGO SETS. If you can donate legos, please drop them off at our house or mail them to our address: 1900 Pinal Rd, Golden CO, 80401.
