-Lockdown has been extended till 20th May in the red zones where most of the poor reside.

We've been trying to help feed the poor in India's slums, but quickly recognized that this problem is much bigger that we can handle on our own. Many of the poorest Indians are suffering during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are trying to help them with a two-fold effort to provide food and basic sanitation.

Food: On March 24th, India went into a nationwide lockdown without much warning. Transportation came to a standstill, and migrant workers made up of daily wage laborers were left stranded, unable to make the long and arduous journeys back to their villages to seek refuge. They have no means to support themselves and are hungry and desperate. Many were left starving and stranded in the middle of their long journeys with little to no resources to feed and care for their loved ones. They do not have money, food, safety, or ability to self-isolate or social-distance. This is the true front line of the coronavirus. 

Sanitation: In addition, they need help getting basic sanitation stations set up for COVID-19 hit slums in India, where positive cases are increasing each day. We are hoping that this can help slow or hopefully stop the spread of the virus.  

All funds are spent on food and supplies for those in need. Our team will manage and fund all logistics, including distribution, tracking, and reporting. $1 feeds a person 2 meals a day. 

How we plan to do this: By partnering with NGOs like Rice Love  who has a team on the ground coordinating these efforts. Rice Love has been feeding the poor for almost 4 years. They were mostly supporting families like these even before the virus broke out. 100% of your funds will be used to feed and provide front line assistance.
