As part of our No Shave November initiative for 2024, PBA 301 will be raising money for a local family that has fallen on hard times. Stephen Coultas and his fiancé Kay are residents of Long Valley along with their two young boys, Bjorn and Finn. Kay suffers from a form of drug-resistant epilepsy and experiences multiple different forms of seizures that greatly affect her quality of life, as well as the lives of her family members. Kay has recently undergone brain surgery in an attempt to alleviate the number of seizures that she endures so that she can live a more comfortable life. The recovery for this type of surgery is extensive and has proven to be more difficult than anticipated for Stephen and his family. Stephen has missed a significant amount of work in order to care for Kay during her recovery. This has ultimately led to financial hardships for this young family, making it very difficult to pay bills and secure necessities for their children. Our PBA came across Stephen and Kay's story on a Long Valley community Facebook page and recognized an opportunity to help a local family during a time of need. During our No Shave initiative, Officers grow beards to bring awareness to a number of different causes, this year we are glad to support the Coultas family and Kay's road to recovery. If you see a Washington Township Officer with a beard during the month of November, know that they donated to a great cause and that we encourage members of the community too donate as well!
We want to thank the community for all their continued support.
