Help teacher Ditta Biggs pay her rent!

My name is Ditta Biggs, and I have been a resident of East New York ever since I left Jamaica more than twenty years ago! I have always been so proud to be a part of this strong and loving community. As a pre-K and elementary school teacher in Brooklyn's public schools, I worked with families in our neighborhood and watched our children grow for eleven years. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and schools closing all over the city, I was fired from my job in March 2020. I have not been able to work since, and I have been unable to pay my rent.


I am asking with all my heart for support from my community and my city. In all my years here, people have watched out for one another, and in this time of need I am deeply grateful for whatever you are able to give. Every cent will go towards paying my rent and getting me back on my feet so I can remain a part of this amazing community. Thank you for your generosity and courage during these times.
