Playquity is an amazing NGO fighting for gender equity in India through Ultimate Frisbee. They employ young, Indian women to coach frisbee in rural villages with groups of girls. 

This fundraiser is about paying these young, female, Indian ultimate frisbee coaches so that they can do this powerful work and support their families at the same time. 

Your Impact 

Your contribution goes directly towards paying the salary of a female coach in the Playquity program. 

Playquity Coach Salary $120 per month (a livable wage in rural India) 

$1,440 per year 

$1,440 x 10 coaches = $14,400

About Playquity

The Playquity model consists of first training young women in the sport of ultimate frisbee without the presence of boys, imparting "not only athletic skills but also confidence, empathy, communication and interpersonal skills that are critical to their development." Once the girls know the sport well, they then choose male teammates and pass on what they have learned, forming a truly equitable coed team. It's an important role reversal in which boys experience female leadership for maybe the first time, and girls "possess skills and knowledge about something that their male counterparts do not."

As you can see, an essential part of the Playquity system is empowering female coaches to lead, but that commitment is not easy for many Indian women who are expected to help their families either by staying at home or finding paid work. That is why Playquity pays all of its coaches.
