Help Bring My Nephew Home: Bond Due September 28
My name is Maria De Los Angeles Garcia, and I am raising
funds to pay the immigration bond for my nephew, P.G.
P. G. was initially born in Mexico in 1996, but began living
in the United States at 4 years old. After that time, P.G. built a life in the
United States, attending school, and filing his application for a U visa in
2017. In 2022, U.S. Customs and Immigration Services determined the application
is “bona fide” meaning at this time P.G. is only awaiting issuance of his visa.
Despite these attempts to remain in the United States
lawfully, P.G. has been held in immigration detention in Arizona for almost a
year. His attorney secured a $20,000 bond for him. That is far more than our
family can pay on our own, and it is due by September 28.
Detention has been very hard on P.G. His mental health is
getting worse, and he is not getting the medical care he needs.
P.G. came to the United States when he was 4 years old. This
is his home. If he is released, he will live with me in San Jose. His family is
here and ready to support him.
We have already asked organizations for help, but the bond
is still unpaid and the deadline is only days away. Every dollar raised
here will go only toward P.G.'s immigration bond.
If you can give, please support P.G. today. A donation of
any size, or simply sharing this page, could help bring him home to his family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
