Save My Mom's House

My mother, Barbara J. Reid, has served in her community for as long as I've been alive. She has served as a Christian Marriage Seminar leader alongside my father on a local and district level, where she has been invited to speak at various state and church conferences, and is an Illinois state-certified drug counselor. After the recent passing of my father, Rev. Dr. Charles Reid III, she took over his position at the church and is serving in that capacity until a permanent replacement pastor is named. She's worked tirelessly in the areas of highest need for over 40 years, never asking for anything in return except prayers. Her plate is never empty. Now I'm here to ask for your assistance.

Upon Pop's unexpected passing, the reverse mortgage company that owns the deed to the home they paid off over 20 years ago began aggressive attempts to take away her home and evict her. Their tactics are unscrupulous, targeting the most vulnerable individuals at their most trying times. Over the last 18 months, Mom's faced tremendous adversity impacting her financial health and mental well-being, potentially costing her home. My father left her covered as far as monthly expenses, but none of us ever expected to face anything like this.

Anyone who knows my Mom or knew my father knows that they have influenced, affected, and encouraged countless people throughout their lives. She's given selflessly for four decades, continues to serve, and isn't asking for a thing, which is why I am.

We're seeking 300K to cover the second mortgage and get the title back in Mom's deserving hands. With the upcoming holiday season, give my mother the gift of not having to worry about finances. My parents have touched so many lives; won't you please help in Mom's time of need?

The money donated will be presented directly to my Mom to cover the reverse mortgage. Your support will help ensure Mom can rest easy in the only home she's known for over 35 years. I'll be starting with the first $1000.
