Paul’s Home of Children was founded in 2020 and was named after the efforts of Paul Burkart who has since been at the forefront in supporting the disadvantaged and marginalized children of Arusha.

The NGO consists of an orphanage and various income generating projects and is dedicated to supporting orphans, widows and HIV positive individuals. Income generation currently comes from

1) A bakery which was set up inside the premises where we produce mandazi (a local pastry)

2) Coal transportation

All profits go to staff wages, the children's education and into a fund to cover emergency expenses. We currently have 8 children living in the orphanage and employ 4 fulltime employees.

Paul will be returning to Tanzania in January 2024 for 3 weeks and is currently looking to raise funds for the below. All money raised will be spent directly for the orphanage, photos of purchases will be uploaded and receipts will be provided where possible. If anyone either in New York or Ireland also has any old mobile phones or tablets it would be greatly appreciated

- An industrial oven to increase production in the bakery

- A 20 litre mixing machine

- A sealing machine

- Bunkbeds and mattresses (it is currently 3 per bed)

- Composting toilets

- A water pump

- A shower
