Paul Wais Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Joe Bonacci, Coxsackie-Athens Central School Class of 1981. We are in the process of establishing a memorial scholarship in the name of a former classmate and friend, Paul R. Wais, Jr.
Paul was a dedicated member and Co-Captain of the Coxsackie Athens football team and talented member of the High School Band.
He personified quiet, steadfast commitment to others and was passionate about giving back to his family and community.
Paul was a life long resident of Athens, New York where he owned and operated his family's dairy farm until cancer claimed his life in February of 2018. Paul found joy in the simple pleasures of farm life, in music and in being part of the close-knit Coxsackie-Athens community. He was a devoted husband, father of four and active member of the Zion Lutheran church. Paul enjoyed performing in many local bands over the years and humbly shared his musical talents.
The Paul Wais Memorial Scholarship will honor a graduating CA senior who best exemplifies Paul's character. Senior students will submit applications to the Paul Wais Memorial Scholarship committee via the Guidance office and a winner will be chosen by the committee members. The $1,000 scholarship award will be presented at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony on June 5, 2019.
In order to award a senior who graduates this year, time is of the essence! I'm asking for donations to fund this year's award, as well as for future recipients. Donations of any amount are welcomed and encouraged!! PLEASE SHARE in order to make this a reality!
THANK YOU for your generosity!!
