Paul Kim's Ironman for Woorijip Scholarship

Hi everyone! My name is Paul Kim, and on September 17. 2022, I will compete in my second full-distance Ironman triathlon in Maryland. Through this race, I am raising awareness of and funding for the Woorijip Scholarship, a scholarship fund sponsored by NAKASEC (National Korean American Service and Education Consortium). The Woorijip Scholarship ("Woorijip" = "Our House" in Korean) provides opportunities for low-income, underprivileged, working-class, undocumented people of color living in the US to travel, explore their identities, and receive support and mentorship from leaders in the immigrant justice community. This scholarship means a lot to me as it focuses on building joy, connections, and community in the daily lives of impacted people in our communities.

It's been a long couple of years in this pandemic, and I have had the privilege of using that time to train and build myself up to complete the Ironman again. But unfortunately, not all of us have these privileges. By donating, you will directly help impacted people in our communities take a break from constantly worrying about survival in the face of systemic and institutional injustices against immigrants.

Your donation goes to NAKASEC, the National Korean American Service and Education Consortium, the fiscal sponsor of the Woorijip Scholarship Fund. Every single dollar of your donation will go directly towards the Woorijip Scholarship Fund and is tax-deductible!

My goal is to raise over $5,000 dollars for the scholarship!
