"It Takes a Village"

My heart instantly skipped a beat.
We had both gone into our adoption agency to drop off some odds and ends that were needed to complete our mile high pile of paperwork. Up until that moment I didn't even know if our application would be accepted. We had been told that once everything was submitted, they would review  it all thoroughly and  let us know if we would be allowed to proceed.

As we dropped off those papers I was dying to ask if they had even started processing our application, but I didn't want to appear overly eager, so I kept my mouth shut.  As we wrapped up our small talk with the administration specialist she looked at us both and said these words; the words that made my heart stop and soar at the same time...

"We decided to start your reviewing your paperwork and are going to start processing you as active Adoptive Parents"

From that moment my life changed.
People say their lives change from the moment they find out they are pregnant.
After obver 3 years of trying and never getting to experiance that moment (due to medical barriers) we knew that adoption was something we wanted to pursue. One of our favorite things about adoption is the fact that we can't do it by ourselves.  Some people might hate thinking about it that way, but we love it. We love knowing that it takes more then two people to adopt a baby: from the birth family to the adoption adgency to the laywers...the list goes on and on.
But the part we love most is "The Village"

We know that we can not adopt this baby alone. We are asking our village to get excited with us, pray for us, and hopefully out of the kindness of your hearts, support us.
If adoption was easy everyone would do it. Sadly, we have come to realize that not only do we have multiple hoops to jump through but we also have tens of thousands of dollars we need to raise to bring our sweet babe home.

We know not everyone can adopt, but each one of you can activly choose to be a part of our son or daughter's village.

We have been overwhelmed with the love and support we have already recieved and can't wait to share this amazing journey with you all as we become parents!

All our love,

Scott & Shanna
