Help Jonathyn (13) and Marcus (9) Heal

Hi, my name is Sarah and I am raising funds on behalf of Patricio Suarez and his two young boys.

Some Background:
Patricio is a legal immigrant who came to this country for a better life. He married an American woman who ended up being domestically violent, physically, mentally, and emotionally. His wife was arrested several times, with the last one resulting in a 6-month sentence. Believing in family and marriage, he made heroic efforts to salvage the marriage and remain a family. Seeing that her behavior would not change and after a counselor stated that his only hope at a normal life was to leave the marriage, he divorced in 2015.

In 2016, after a long and expensive custody battle, he was granted full physical and legal custody of his two boys, Jonathyn born in November of 2010 and Marcus born in March of 2014, based on her inability to coparent, refusal to abide by court orders or
cooperate with time sharing agreements, and concern about her mental instability.

Patricio's ex-wife is quite adept at exploiting the system to her benefit, misusing child welfare, the courts, and police to harass Patricio and cause undue stress, anxiety and fear in the boys. Several times over the past 8 years, she has refused to return the children after her visitation. She seems to know how to comply the moment before she is charged or brought to court.

Due to her misuse of the system, Patricio amassed enormous legal bills while he defended himself against temporary restraining orders that were never granted at the official court hearings, frivolous court motions, hearings, court dates, and court assessments.

Current Situation:
On Sunday, November 26th Jonathyn and Marcus were kidnapped by their mother. Since that time, there have been emergency hearings and court orders for her to return the children.

On Wednesday, December 13th she was a no show for the ordered transfer of the children at family court. That evening it was confirmed that law enforcement agencies nationwide were looking for her and the boys since Monday, December 11th when she refused to turn the children over to the police and stopped answering her own lawyer's calls, emails, and text.

This present crisis brought another round of legal fees and loss of income as Patricio attended court hearings, consulted with his lawyer and law enforcement, searched for his children, and answered false allegations once again.

Any financial savings and good will from others in the form of reduced legal fees, outright grants, and short-term personal loans have been used up over the past 8 years of ongoing legal battles.

Patricio works for himself and has lost hours and hours of income. Everything he worked so hard to build in America has been taken from him, even his boys at this time as they are still missing.

What this family DESPERATELY needs NOW is financial help with the following:

  • Legal ($15,000 - past due and current)
  • Counseling Expenses (Patricio, family, and both boys)
  • Travel Expenses (to retrieve the boys when found)
  • General Living Expenses

It is hard for a self-sufficient, proud man to ask for help, so I AM HUMBLY asking for your support of this family.

Any unused portion of your help will be donated to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
