More information about Firefly Cancer Awareness and Support: Firefly provides free transport to the people in the borough of Doncaster who require cancer treatment in Sheffield. Firefly is non profit charity and every penny goes directly back in to keeping our fleet of vehicles on the road. Our dedicated team will support and help you out and hopefully take away the stress and financial implications. Firefly is about life and living it to the full.

In June this year my mum was diagnosed with Cancer of the oesophagus. It was a total shock and as a family we had never experienced anything to do with this awful disease so we had many questions we needed answering . We didn’t expect mum not to be here this Christmas but unfortunately she passed away on September 9th. Because the time of diagnosis and mum passing we managed to care for mum ourselves and didn’t need any outside support. I think we would have very much benefited from some help and understanding with this disease. We as a family were lucky enough to manage getting mum to hospital ourselves on the rare occasion she had to attend but because she couldn’t have treatment we didn’t make many journeys . If we did have to make the journeys I know we would have struggled and this organisation would have been a life line as I know it is to many people .

This Saturday I am doing the equivalent to the three peaks but in a gym environment (SQUAD Wath-Upon-Dearne) which will involve running, bike and ski. I would be very grateful for your support .
