Christmas should be a time of joy, connection and kindness. But while many of us are celebrating with family, sharing a meal and watching our children open presents, others are facing a very different Christmas.

For people experiencing homelessness or financial hardship, this time of year can be heartbreaking and stressful. Parents may be wondering how they will put food on the table, let alone afford a gift for their children.

At Pathhaven Disability Care, we want to give back and help make Christmas a little brighter. That’s why we’re organising a Christmas Toy Run supporting Carrie’s Place in Maitland, and we’re asking our community to come together to help one another.

Money raised will help purchase gifts for children and gift cards for supermarkets and other retailers, helping families access food, essential items and something special for Christmas.

We’re also collecting donated gifts for children, teenagers and adults, because everyone deserves to feel remembered.

Suggested donations include:

New toys for children of all ages, from babies through to teenagers.

️ Gift cards for supermarkets, department stores, cinemas and major retailers.

Gifts for women, such as self-care items, handbags, beauty products, homewares and vouchers.

Gifts for men, such as grooming products, gift packs, practical items and vouchers.

Age-appropriate gifts for teenagers, who can be one of the most difficult age groups to cater for and deserve to be included too.

Drop gifts off at our Pathhaven Disability Care office.

Contact us to arrange a pickup if you’re unable to get to our office.
