Help Pat Lap and His Family Fight Back Against a Corporate Goliath.

Hi, my name is Brian Callahan, and I’ve set up this fundraiser to support my dear friend Pat, his partner Stephanie, and their beautiful baby daughter, Rose.

Pat wasn't aware that I was doing this and was far too proud and considerate to have asked for anyone's help... I on the other hand, certainly am not!

You may know Pat as “Pat Lap” or “Canadian Pat” — a beloved figure in the Maker Community who has spent years inspiring and entertaining people around the world with his creativity, humor, and generosity. Whether through the hit Netflix series “Making Fun," Canadian television, YouTube videos, podcasts, workshops, or live events, Pat has brought joy, knowledge, and laughter to thousands.

However nowadays, Pat and his family are being crushed by an overwhelming and deeply unfair legal battle waged by his former employer, Lee Valley Tools, a large Canadian corporate retailer. Lee Valley is suing him in a case that appears designed specifically to seek nothing but revenge by financially destroying him. Despite having done nothing wrong to warrant this treatment by Lee Valley, Pat has been forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars just to defend himself and protect his family.

This is a classic David vs. Goliath fight, it is one man standing up to a powerful corporation that seems laser focused to personally destroy him and bankrupt his family. Pat is fighting not just for his own future, but for the principle that individuals should not be pummeled into submission through the abuse of the legal system by anyone, let alone a enormous corporate tyrant.
