On August 3, a powerful storm with 90–100 mph winds ripped the roof completely off the house our parents have called home for 45 years. They are 78 and 73 years old an age when they should be enjoying peace and security, not starting over from scratch.

They did not have homeowners insurance, and with the home’s original electrical system and extensive water damage, it’s simply not safe to repair. The only options are to demolish it, find a safe place to live, or rebuild.
