Heartbreaking Update:
I have some very devastating news to share. My dear family in Pushkar, India has suffered two recent losses. My sister Pappu has lost two of her daughters suddenly, and Mamta has lost two of her sisters, Lila (24) and Nalini (3).
Our hearts are broken with hers, and we are holding her and her family as close as we can during this time of deep grief. We are urgently gathering resources to support Pappu and her family in accessing trusted healthcare and the care they need as they navigate this loss together.
Thank you for surrounding her with love — through prayers, sharing, and continued support.

Peace Everyone,
I’m reaching out today with an open heart because I feel deeply called to support someone very special — Pappu Devi.
She’s one of Rajasthan’s most iconic faces, her piercing eyes captured in photographs that have drawn travelers from all over the world to Pushkar. Beyond her striking presence, Pappu Devi is a woman of immense kindness, a mother of six, and a soul who radiates love and serenity to everyone she meets. When we first met, it felt like reconnecting with my sister from another life.
She has never once asked for anything — but I know that, like so many mothers in the world, she is facing real challenges; keeping her home secure, ensuring her children are fed and healthy, and having access to clean water between other basic needs.
The reality is, due to harsh weather conditions and the caste system, she only gets about four months of work each year, selling her handmade quilts in the market during tourist season. The rest of the year is a fight to stretch what little she earns; with six children depending on her, food insecurity is very real.
Pappu Devi is wise beyond words, deeply intuitive, and one of the hardest - working people I know. She has come a long way — from living in a tent saving and investing everything she has into building a real loving home for her family. But it’s not finished yet, and that’s where we can help. This fundraiser will support the completion of her home and ensure her children have food on the table.
If her presence has ever touched you or if you believe in supporting a beautiful spirit and her family, please consider contributing. Every little bit makes a difference. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for being part of real change.
With love,
Alees
