Pantry with Purpose: The Collins Pantry Project

We are students and staff from The Collins Academy STEAM High School in North Lawndale, Chicago—a school rooted in creativity, innovation, and community. This season, our Student Council is launching a new initiative to open a Community Food Pantry inside our school, built on the values of care, dignity, and togetherness.

The pantry will be open to anyone connected to our school and neighborhood who could use a little extra support—no questions asked. It’s a space where we take care of one another, where students, families, and community members can both give and receive, and where generosity flows in every direction.

We’re raising funds to help stock the pantry with everyday essentials—nonperishable foods, household items, and personal care supplies—so that it can stay open and accessible throughout the year. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us build a culture of mutual aid and compassion within our school community.

At Collins Academy, we believe that when we lift each other up, we all rise together. Thank you for helping us turn that belief into action.
