Pampered Pillowcase

My name is Angelina Chardavoyne. I am a resident of Smithtown and I am currently a 9th grade student. I started The Pampered Pillowcase’s Suffolk County, NY chapter in early 2022. The Pampered Pillowcase is a long-standing charitable organization created in 2014. Since inception, the organization has provided over 1000 ‘pampered pillows’ to women in centers/shelters throughout various communities. Pillowcases donated are filled with items that may not be considered necessities but rather items that make women feel special and pampered. These items include but are not limited to pajamas, slippers, manicure kits, blankets and so much more!

Before starting this chapter, I researched organizations within my community to partner with. I chose ECLI-VIBES because of my passion in supporting survivors of trauma. Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk, known as VIBS, has assisted survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault since the 1970’s. In 2021, VIBS joined forces with Empowerment Collaborative of Long Island (ECLI) who shared in their mission of providing support and care for survivors of domestic abuse. Together, they formed ECLI-VIBES where their mission is to be a beacon of hope, helping survivors to reclaim their power and shape their own outcomes, so they can live happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives. The organization is located in Islandia, N.Y.

I am so happy to continue to work with ECLI-VIBES and that we will be able to provide these survivors with a pampered pillow to show them they are thought of and matter – but I need your help. I am working on filling over 50 pillowcases to be delivered in time for the Holidays.
