On the morning of March 11, 2023, at 2 AM, my sister along with the rest of the family and citizens of Pajaro were evacuated without appropriate notice. With only a few hours to prepare, she lost most if not all of her personal belongings. My sisters and I were born and raised in Watsonville, CA and have lived in the community of Royal Oaks, CA (Pajaro) all of our lives. My sister (Kiki) had been living out of town and had just moved back into her childhood home in October 2022. With a new move came many expenses. She poured her heart into building a home for herself and her 3 cats.
I am devastated to see how her home was left and although there is not much I can do for her, I am asking friends and family to help contribute to get her back on her feet. She is one of the hardest working people I know and an individual who I look up to even though she is my little sister.
We've been taking trips to her house to salvage what we can, although not much is left. I've provided some images below to highlight the damage this flood has caused. We truly appreciate any contributions from the bottom of our hearts.
