Contribute to the experience of a lifetime. Your donation will help fund A unique social experiment in race relations.

We are offering $2500 to White Americans the chance to experience being Black. 

Once we interview our candidates for this social experience, they will go through a 2 day process of getting them ready; hairstyle, having their whole body airbrushed to the color Black and or both grease foundation to bring their look to a convincing Black. They will be fitted with a mini camera to record their experiences as they are dropped off in a neighborhood that is known for their racist turbulences. From 10am till 4pm their movements will be documented. No cell phones or photo identification will be allowed in their possession. 

They must sign the disclaimer below and throughout their adventure they must not divulge that they are part of this experiment. If they divulge this social experience they will forfeit the $2500.

We are offering the experience of a lifetime; a chance to live for a day on the other side of the racial divide. If you feel there is no black/white division, now you can find out for yourself, upfront and personally. 

We will pay you $2500 to have our makeup professional make you Black for a day. Not minstrel Black or party Black, but actually Black. You will be able to go out on the streets and feel the effects of this embodied experience. Are you looked at differently? Are you spoken to in a different way? Report back your findings with a short video questionnaire at the end of the day. Maybe you will be truly changed by this experiment, or maybe not. Either way, you will be $2500 richer. Test the power of your convictions.

Your / Their day.
Day 1, Hair salon for a new hairstyle. Then the decision to either airbrush your color or use professional makeup, but then again we mostly will be using both techniques. If you have the full body airbrush color, you must not wash until 12 hours later. 
Day 2, wash off the airbrushed spray, have breakfast, get ready for your next step of color application.
We will pick you up by car, fit you with a mini camera, tracking device and place you in a neighborhood of our choice.
All you have to do is sip coffee, shop at their local markets and enjoy the sunshine.

From 10am till 5pm your whereabouts will be documented.
No cell phones or photo identification will be allowed in your possession.

At the end of the day, a quick video response about your experiences will seal the deal and you will be paid $2500 for participating in our Paint Me Black Social Experience.

Paint Me Black or Paint Me Black Social Experience, its founders, and location leaders are NOT responsible for any injury, including death, to any person participating in  the Paint Me Black Social Experience.

In consideration of my acceptance and my participation in Paint Me Black Social Experience, I hereby release and covenant not to sue Paint Me Black or its founders, for any and all present and future claims resulting from ordinary negligence and inherent risk during Paint Me Black Social Experience, including but not limited to, any loss, injury, damage, or liability sustained by me.

 I understand that Paint Me Black Social Experience shall not be liable for any damages arising from personal injuries sustained by me while participating in and during participation of the Paint Me Black Social Experience. I understand and warrant, release and agree that I am in good physical condition and that I have no disabilities, impairments or ailments that would prevent me from engaging in active or passive exercise that could be detrimental or inimical to heart, safety and/or comfort or physical condition while I engage or participate in the Paint Me Black Social Experience. I hereby agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Paint Me Black Social Experience, its founders, and location leaders, from all causes, liabilities, damages, claims or demands whatsoever on account of any injury or accident involving myself arising out of my participation in the Paint Me Black Social Experience. My participation is purely voluntary. I assume full responsibility for myself for any bodily injury.

COVID-19

I understand the hazards of the novel coronavirus (“COVID-19”) and I am familiar with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), World Health Organization (“WHO”), and my local government’s guidelines regarding COVID-19. I acknowledge and understand that the circumstances regarding COVID-19 are changing from day to day and that, accordingly, the CDC, WHO and local government guidelines are regularly modified and updated and I accept full responsibility for familiarizing myself with the most recent updates.

I understand the risks associated with COVID-19, which I readily acknowledge, I hereby willingly choose to participate in the Paint Me Black Social Experience.

I acknowledge and fully assume the risk of illness or death related to COVID-19 arising from potential exposure to COVID-19 at the Paint Me Black Social Experience and hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE, AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE (on behalf of myself and any minor children from whom I have the capacity contract) the Paint Me Black Social Experience their officers, directors, agents, employees, and volunteers.



PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE AGREEMENT

I acknowledge that during the Paint Me Black Social Experience I may be photographed or filmed by Paint Me Black Social Experience project leaders, trainers, and other professional or amateur photographers. I hereby grant to Paint Me Black Social Experience, its legal representatives, assignees, and those acting under its authority, the unrestricted right and permission to copyright and/or use, and/or publish photographic portraits or pictures, and the negatives, transparencies, prints, or digital information pertaining to them, in still, single, multiple, moving or video format, or in which I may be included in whole or in part, or composite, or distorted in form, or reproductions thereof, in color or otherwise, (Material) in any media, advertising, or any other lawful purpose.

I hereby relinquish any rights to examine or approve the finished product or products or the advertising copy or printed matter that may be used in connection with an image that Paint Me Black Social Experience has taken of me or my liking, or the use to which it may be applied. I waive any ownership and publication right in connection with the Material, with the exception of the personal use of the Material as part of personal modeling portfolio. I waive my right to sell, license or publish any of the Material that to any person or entity.

I further release Paint Me Black Social Experience, and its founders, affiliates, officers, agents, servants, or employees (“Releasees”) from any claims for remuneration associated with any form of damage, foreseen or unforeseen, associated with the proper commercial or artistic use of these images unless it can be shown that said reproduction was maliciously caused, produced and published for the sole purpose of subjecting me to conspicuous ridicule, scandal, reproach, scorn and indignity.

I waive any and all claims, demands, actions and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, that may be sustained by me, or any of the property belonging to me, while performing the photography session, or while in, on or upon the premises where the photography session was performed.

I HAVE READ THE FOREGOING INFORMATION AND UNDERSTAND THE WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK DOCUMENT. I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN-UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY ACKNOWLEDGING THIS WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK DOCUMENT AND I HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE IT VOLUNTARILY.
