PAHS Pepper Spray Distribution Fundraiser

Hey folks! My name is Ben Chin & I'm the director of the Pan Asian Harmony Society (www.pahs.xyz), an LA-based Asian human rights organization, focusing on 1) community defense, 2) education, & 3) economic development. For the past several years, we have been organizing Asian people, other people of color, and the working class in the Southern California area, working with organizations like Neighborhood Safety Companions (safetywalks.org, ig@NeighborhoodSafetyCompanions) & Asians With Attitudes (ig@AsiansWithAttitudes, asianswithattitudes.com) to keep Asian people safe.

In an effort to serve the community while also trying to keep our organization financially viable, I invested $3000 of my own money into purchasing 1000 units of pepper spray to both donate and sell to the community. While we have previously organized our own street safety patrols and donated & distributed approximately 200 pieces to organizations that still regularly conduct these patrols (like NSC & AWA), we have failed to sell many through our online store (store.pahs.xyz) and, as a result, still maintain an inventory of approximately 800 pieces, that is due to expire in a couple years.

We are asking people who care about the Asian community & are concerned about the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes to donate any amount to help cover the original cost of the purchase of the pepper spray ($3000) and our organization will donate our labor to distribute our remaining inventory, *for free*, to members of the community, by visiting local Asian supermarkets in the San Gabriel Valley area.
