Support for Paul and His Family This Christmas

This Christmas, our team at DRS Mechanical is coming together to support a local family. We are organising a charity padel tournament to raise funds for Paul — a wonderful husband, father, and friend — who earlier this year was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

MND is a devastating condition, and sadly Paul’s health has already declined significantly. He now relies on a wheelchair, and everyday life has become increasingly challenging for him and his family. His wife has taken time away from work to care for him full-time, all while supporting their two young children — who attend the same primary school as ours.

This family is facing emotional and financial pressures no one should have to endure, especially at this time of year. We want to help ease their burden and remind them that their community stands firmly beside them. We also want to help make Christmas as magical and joyful as possible for their two young children, giving them moments of comfort, excitement, and normality during such a difficult time. These incredible young children have also done some fundraising of their own which has been nothing short of inspirational for the adults around them seeing how they are dealing with this.

To support the family, we are hosting a charity padel tournament on:

11:00am – 3:00pm

LR Padel Club, Atherton

Entry is £100 per player — and the full £100 goes directly to the family.

The entire cost of the day is being fully covered by DRS Mechanical, ensuring that every penny raised reaches Paul and his loved ones.

All funds donated here, along with the tournament entry fees, will go straight to the family to support care needs, accessibility equipment, day-to-day living costs, and to bring some joy to their children this Christmas.
