13774km pack march to Paris for Dean
Donation protected
This funraiser has exceeded it's goal and does not require any further donations.
Thankyou for your support.
The Situation
May 2025: Dean Hutchinson (3 years old), was unexpectedly diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on 03 May 2025. Dean and his family (brother, mother & father) were transferred to Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane the very next day to commence treatment. The treatment is extensive and prolonged. The planned duration of chemotherapy treatment is two years and three months, expecting weekly treatment for the next 12-15 months. The Hutchinson family have now relocated from Darwin to Brisbane for the duration of Dean's treatment, due to the complexity and frequency of treatment required.
The Vision
May 2028: Dean Hutchinson has completed his treatment and is in now in remission. The Hutchinson family are taking their first big family holiday since December 2024, a well-earned break for both the children and parents.
The destination is Disneyland Paris.
The Hutchinson's are taking an allexpenses paid trip to the tour the theme park for a few days, fun for both of the children.
There will of course, be an opportunity for both Jared and Becca to relax together and enjoy the culture and cuisine of Europe.
The Method
Jared Hutchinson's (father) colleagues (Australian Army, 5/7 RAR) will walk and pack march the distance from Darwin to Disneyland Paris--13,774km over a 48-hour period.
The event will be conducted at Darwin's Robertson Barracks, with the aim to raise $15,000.
The fundraising goals will cover the family's all-expense paid trip to Disneyland Paris, with all additional proceeds being donated to a charity of the Hutchinson's choice.
----
Packmarch to Paris. It's only a short 13,700km from Darwin. The goal is to fundraise a Disneyland trip to Paris on behalf of recent 4 year old Dean as a long term goal, once we beat his leukaemia.
Give more than numb shoulders and busted knees as you walk that dirt track on your Friday morning by supporting the cause.
He flew a long way interstate for the treatment. Let's fly further for the recovery.
