Like so many in the service industry, we are a work family of hosts, servers, bartenders, cooks, and dishwashers. We sweat and stress and laugh and bust our asses together--and almost 100 of us lost our jobs on the same day due to COVID-19 restrictions imposed on the owners of Pack's Tavern.
With no notice, the income that we rely on to support ourselves, our children, and our loved ones vanished. The owners & management have been assisting us every step of the way and we are looking forward to returning to work when the restrictions are lifted. But,we have an immediate need for financial support, and zero opportunities for new employment as long as the pandemic is affecting our community. And as humans, friends, and coworkers, we also have a desire to stay connected and to tell our stories.
We can't possibly express in one post here what it would mean to us to have your support. Instead, we'll show you--follow @ptavgrouphug on Instagram and our facebook group to see how life in this new normal is for us. We'll post about the highs and the lows and all the little moments that are somewhere in between. We are one window into this pandemic, and our story is some other server or cook's story too.
Please contribute whatever you can, and--maybe even more importantly--share this link widely and often. It will take all that we can do, and every little bit you can do to help us, to replace 100 paychecks until we are able to return to our jobs at Pack’s.
All money generated from this campaign will be shared among the front- and back-of-house staff affected by these layoffs.
