Melissa and Family

Hello my name is Le'Ann. I am Spencer's mom, Melissa's mother in law. I created this Gofundme on behalf of my family going through this very hard time. A little back story; 3 years ago Melissa was diagnosed with cancer and given 1-2 years because the cancer is so aggressive and had already been there so long it had grown into her lungs. After surgery and several rounds of chemo and radiation they decided to take a break and see how her body was handling everything. Within 5 weeks the cancer had returned and 2 1/2 years later, several different chemo and radiation attempts, and clinical trials with little to no change the cancer has made its way to her brain. She has spent the last week in the hospital where her doctors determined Melissa's body can no longer handle anymore treatment and surgery is not an option. She has started to lose brain function and was sent home yesterday to hospice and they are just making her comfortable for the end of her very long battle. Melissa and Spencer share 2 daughters together Brianna and Ariella. While Spencer and our family are doing our best to help out we are still having to ask for help. Insurance only covers 80% of the hospital bills, Spencer is unable to work so he can be by her side with the girls, and there will be a funeral to be planned in the near future.
