Support Josh’s Eagle Scout Project

I’m Josh Winkelman, a Junior at Hendrickson HS and a Boy Scout since I was 7. I am raising money to complete my Eagle Scout project to help address the needs of a local nonprofit agency called BACKPACK FRIENDS. Their mission is to help feed kids over the weekend when they don’t have school breakfast & lunch to rely on. BACKPACK FRIENDS provides small bags of food to kids to take home in their backpacks each Friday.

I chose to help this non-profit agency after learning that, “1 out of every 4 kids in Texas will not have enough food this weekend”. To help meet their current needs, I will be purchasing materials, building & installing 3 sets of shelves to help organize & store donated dry food items. I am also building the agency a cart to help transport the boxes of food more safely & efficiently.
