Wrongfully Terminated Amazon Worker - Pat Cioffi

Pasquale Cioffi, whom the organizers in ALU Reform Caucus and workers at JFK8 affectionately call “Uncle Pat,” was wrongfully terminated by Amazon in an act of retaliation. Pat was a Tier 3 Inbound Process Assistant at JFK8 Amazon Fulfillment Center on Staten Island, NY. Pat supported and mentored thousands of associates during his time at JFK8, always guiding them to getting the help they needed and protecting his co-workers from termination.

Pat was a vital player in our union’s NLRB certification victory, mobilizing hundreds of workers to vote yes. Pat has a long history as a union member and organizer, having worked as longshoreman in the ILA for many years prior to working at Amazon and has been a mentor to many of the younger union organizers in the ALU Reform Caucus. To this day, Pat is one of the ALU Reform Caucus’s strongest organizers, not only because of all the relationships he built while he worked at JFK8 as a PA and has since maintained, but because his good nature, humor, and natural leadership abilities allows for him to quickly build trust with associates he just met. Pat is a nominee in the ALU Reform Caucus slate for one of the Constitution Committee positions. He is committed to serving the workers of JFK8 as one of the leaders committed to rank-and-file worker power and democracy and will play a critical role in writing our by-laws as the newly ratified ALU-IBT Local 1.

Due to Amazon’s retaliatory behavior, we are raising funds to help Pat as much as possible while his reinstatement is being litigated by the NLRB. Pat needs help paying his rent, utilizes, and bills, as well as take care of his medical conditions, while he relentlessly continues to struggle against Amazon to fight for what all Amazon workers deserve.
