An Unexpected Goodbye

Many families are currently going through tough times and unfortunately The Moreno Castillo family is one of them.

I am Luci Jacinto who is a close friend of the Moreno Castillo family and I would like for the public to please help raise funds for this family who have been affected during this crisis. The funds will be sent to the family as they will start from the bottom up to build a new life. Ever Moreno and Hermelinda Castillo along with their daughters Natsumy and Xiara Moreno were snatched away from our community. ICE sent a message that the whole family needed to show up on a Thursday morning for a check in. The family attended their check in but once the clock hit 6pm, without a word, they were arrested and detained. They were not allowed to use their phones to contact their families to let them know they were not coming back. Now, they are facing deportation to Peru where they don't have anything, not even a home. All of their belongings are left behind as they were expecting to get back home. [Prohibited from taking them home with them.] Now the parents and their daughters are going back to a place where they don't feel secure. The Moreno and Castillo parents only want their daughters to live a safe and prosperous life; now they are going back to a place where their dreams are destroyed. All of their friends and families are left behind without a Goodbye and lots of hugs.

Ever Moreno whom I worked along with is one of the most hardworking and honest individuals that I have gotten to known. He contributed to the country and economy as he always paid his taxes and without any governmental help. Ever Moreno and his family came to this country to build a safer life, and prosperous future for his family. As they established their new lives here in the U.S, they had dreams and aspirations to strive in this country and live the life they have always dreamed of. That dream was in the making because of all their effort they put in to work, but was sadly taken away from them too soon.

Hermelinda Castillo is Ever Moreno’s wife who has always been respectful and very hardworking. She is a wonderful individual who is loving, kind, and honest with everyone. She was always there for Ever and her daughters.

Natsumy Moreno of 14 years old is Ever Moreno’s and Hermelinda Castillo’s oldest daughter that was at the edge of graduating from middle school. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend her graduation ceremony that was going to be an important part of her life. Natsumy is an excellent honors student who loved learning and wanted to remain studying here in this country. Now that she also faces deportation with her family, her dreams of studying in the US have been shattered. Her graduation gown and cap, and certificate were among the belongings left behind along with her dreams in the U.S.

Xiara Moreno of 9 years old is Ever Moreno’s and Hermelinda Castillo’s youngest daughter. She is a loving, kind, and sweet little girl that also loved learning, not being aware of what’s going on and why they were taken away. A very creative little girl will also face deportation.

As this family went through a difficult and traumatic process, I created this gofundme to raise funds that will help them settle back in Peru. I appreciate everyone who is willing to help this beautiful family. Thank you!
