Iron Island Museum Building Repairs
Donation protected
The Iron Island Museum is a wonderful historic building in Buffalo, NY, it is the first neighborhood museum in the city. Our museum was built in 1883 as a church, was turned into a funeral home in 1958 and donated to The Iron Island Preservation Society of Lovejoy, Inc. for our museum. The museum has items from the railroad, the military, the neighborhood, the City of Buffalo, along with so much more.
We attract people from all over the world who come to see and learn about the history of our building and our neighborhood.
Along with a tremendous history our building has been on 3 national televised programs, Ghost Hunters, Ghost Lab and My Ghost Story.
We are in need of 1/4 roof replacement (3/4 has already been done), we need to repair the east wall of the outside where the bricks have fallen off and we would love to open up the stained glass windows that were put in when the church was built.
All donations are tax deductible because we are a not for profit 501 (c) 3.
We want to keep this building open for all to enjoy for years to come.
We received a grant from NYSBetter Buffalo Fund that will cover 75% of our repairs, this $15,000 will cover the other 25%.
