NepalCovidCrisis & 3rd wave Prevention

Donation protected

Emergency Relief and rescue for worst affected areas in Nepal, Covid Crisis relief and third wave prevention in remote areas.

With the global support from organization and individuals, we completed many rescue and relief mission in Nepal. including delivering

124 oxygen concentrators in Nepal, using various methods of transportations- vehicles, cargo flights, chartered helicopter flights, porters and mules.

As if the coronavirus second wave was not enough, the start of the Monsoon season has already resulted in floods ; people are being swept away and displaced, making our covid-19 relief rescue and prevention work very difficult.

Our Hamro Sano Prayas/Institute for Nepal team is working with emergency teams (Nepal Police, Nepal army) and medical teams to bring the much needed relief to the affected areas, rescuing people who need immediate medical attention, and working with front line workers in remote areas to bring awareness in the local communities, provide medical supplies like masks, sanitizers, face shields, medicines, oxygen concentrators etc.

With only 4% of the population vaccinated, a third wave is very probable. We are working with local goverment, Nepal police and medical  teams to bring awareness programs in the most remote, most forgotten areas of Nepal.

Our teams recently completed rescue and relief helicopter chartered mission in Manang and Upper Dolpa.

Some of our ongoing missions, like Upper Dolpa Mission is a difficult and expensive mission, but very important to raise awareness and prevent the third wave in the remote parts of Nepal. This will also serve to help the government to make preparations to prevent surges in places like these , which will be inevitable if we do not make take the necessary steps. The delta variant is turning out to be more infectious and causing more severe disease. Nepal simply can not deal with another super wave, especially in the remotest areas. This mission will serve as an example of how epidemiological work and social needs assessments should be done in remote parts like this, especially in the context of Nepal. This mission was identified by Hamro Sano Prayas - हाम्रो सानो प्रयासIInstitute For Nepalfollowing a lot of research and discussion with specialists involved in COVID-19 response and volunteers in the grounds. This is a globally connected and locally engaged effort. Thank you everyone for your support.

Our role in Vaccine Diplomacy--

Please help Nepal and Nepali people!!!
CNN says: "Nepal could be the next India... except worse"..

A devastating COVID crisis is sweeping through Nepal...

The medical facilities and healthcare professionals are overwhelmed.
Our volunteers are tired and feeling helpless as the relief work has been going on for too long and funds are drying out.
There is a shortage of oxygen supply in the hospitals and in homes.  Timely oxygen supply saves lives.
Among other relief work, Institute For Nepal along with its partners Hamro Sano Prayas have just started to manage a oxygen bank so that COVID patients can have access to oxygen on a timely manner. We have also partnered with youth groups to create temporary isolation centers for COVID positive patients including healthcare professionals, monitoring/inspecting hospitals to assess hospital capacity, assess PPE needs of frontliners and supply where needed, managing ICU beds and emergency transport needs, and plasma needs, provide at-home nursing service for stable patients, emergency hotline and free telephonic medical and psychological consultation for covid patients in home isolation, continually support with essential items for extremely poor people and daily wage workers etc.

US Nepal Help Network ( UNHN) and Institute for Nepal have partnered to create fundraiser to help Nepal in this difficult time.

Please help... we and our partners are in desperate need of funds for unexpected projects due to this second wave in Nepal.

Please consider donating and joining us at this very crucial time to save as many lives as possible.
Thank you!
