If you’ve somehow found this fundraiser without already knowing who I am… welcome! You’re about to wonder what the hell you’ve stumbled into.
I’m Kylie Ochoa… probably best known for accidentally becoming part of cybersecurity history after my ex-husband hacked police websites back in 2012. Somehow, my bikini ended up becoming almost as famous as we did, which honestly wasn’t on my bingo card for life.
The funniest part?
My ex-husband and I are actually friends now. I know. It’s weird. I don’t understand it either.
I originally had a fundraiser running to help get me to DEFCON this year, but I decided to shut it down because I had a much more ridiculous idea…
Let’s auction off the bikini.
Yes.
THAT bikini.
The one that has somehow become part of cybersecurity folklore.
The person who donates the most before the fundraiser ends wins it.
Your options are…
I’ll sign it.
I won’t sign it if you’d rather have it exactly as it is.
If you’d like me to wear it for a few days before I mail it, I’ll happily do that too.
And if you really want to own an absolutely ridiculous piece of cybersecurity history, I’ll even ask my ex-husband if he’d be willing to sign it as well. If he says yes, that’s entirely up to the winner.
Now… why am I doing this?
Because my car has decided it no longer identifies as transportation.
It’s currently auditioning for the role of “very expensive lawn ornament.”
I need to rent a car to get to DEFCON, and then rent a minivan for the trip home so I can finally empty my storage unit and get the rest of my life back to Texas.
Anyone who’s followed me over the last year knows it’s been one disaster after another… but somehow I’m still laughing.
Probably because if I don’t laugh, I’ll cry… and crying gives me wrinkles.
DEFCON has always been my happy place. It’s where I get to hug people I only see once a year, catch up with friends from around the world, meet new nerds, and spend a week surrounded by people who think my ADHD is a feature instead of a bug.
If you’ve laughed at one of my ridiculous Facebook posts…
If you’ve followed this crazy journey…
If you’ve ever wanted to own one of the weirdest conversation starters in cybersecurity…
I’d genuinely appreciate your support.
Every donation gets me one step closer to Vegas, one step closer to seeing my hacker family again, and one step closer to finally getting everything I own out of storage.
Thank you for putting up with my chaos, cheering me on, and reminding me why I love this community so much.
Now… who wants a famous bikini? ❤️
Love,
Kylie Ochoa
P.S. I’m adding the DM I just got from a friend today. I am so honored by his words, it means the world to me
