My nephew Owen is just over 3 months old and has a heart murmur and when he was brought to Boston on Sunday 11/17/2019 for an appointment this past Tuesday, they did further testing on his heart and did diagnose him with a tumor on his heart that will not get smaller or go away over time on its own...they will need to do surgery to remove it! They have been closely monitoring him since he was admitted to the hospital in Boston on Tuesday 11/19/2019 after his MRI. Also, While under anesthesia for the MRI on Tuesday, his heart rate spiked up several times and after testing and an EKG they discovered he also has Supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT). His heart arrhythmia will need to be managed with medication every 8 hours to keep his heart rate down. But in the meantime, he needs to be closely monitored so they can find the correct medication and dose to help with that which can take awhile. The team of surgeons met and have decided as of today that he will need to have this surgery sooner than later. He will be having open heart surgery on Wednesday 11/27/2019 to remove the tumor. My sister is there with him at all times in the hospital, her husband will be going back and forth, staying outside of the hospital. Anything would help them with the added expenses of gas and housing, etc.
