PSA – Please Read and Share
I’m sharing this as a heartfelt PSA, but if you feel moved to help in any way, it would mean the world to me. SCAMS are real, and they can happen to anyone—even those of us who think we’re careful and smart.
I was simply looking for a part-time job and came across an opportunity on Facebook to review products. At first, it seemed legitimate—I received funds for two days, and everything appeared to be above board. But things quickly spiraled. They began asking for more and more money to “complete tasks,” and before I knew it, I was caught in something I didn’t fully understand until it was too late.
They set up group chats and even assigned a “mentor,” creating a false sense of trust and support. It felt real. But it wasn’t. I lost money. I lost peace of mind. I lost myself. It all happened so quickly that by the time I stepped back, I was already deep in it.
Please be cautious. If you’re looking for remote or online work, vet every opportunity thoroughly. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And if something like this has happened to you, please don’t feel ashamed. You’re not alone. After sharing my story, I’ve learned that there are so many others who’ve gone through something similar.
Again, this message is mostly to raise awareness, but if you’re in a position to contribute or help, I would be deeply grateful.
Thank you for reading—and please be careful out there.
