Hi, my name is Naomi I’m a personal trainer/fitness coach, I run Bootcamps in Tufnell Park Islington. I have worked in the fitness industry for nearly 20 years. I use to teach girls football prior to being a PT. Encouraging and coaching fitness is my passion.

Roughly a year ago I was asked by Joanna at Hocking Hall Whittington Park if I’d like 6 paid sessions to teach the over 55s some chair based exercise. In the 6 weeks I bonded with all the group. We laughed told stories and exercised. They absolutely melted my heart.

A year later I’m still volunteering with the centre working weekly with the over 55s group. Seeing their conference, mobility and strength improving on a weekly basis has been beneficial and rewarding for all.

Hocking Hall is a lovely community centre it was built in 1890 and originally part of the Church it became a community centre 1972. Like all community centres it is low on funding and relies on charitable organisations and local residents for additional funding.

Im trying to raise some money for fitness equipment for the over 55s we need step boards, light weights, resistance bands, balls and some games. There’s only so much you can do with minimal equipment we would love to have more equipment so we can work more on strength balance coordination and having fun.

All donations would be greatly appreciated and beneficial for our older community.
