Larkfield Garden's Outdoor Educators
Donation protected
Since its inception in 2012 the Larkfield Community Garden and Learning Center has provided a space for outdoor youth education, growing fresh-organic vegetables for local food banks, and hosting regular events and workshops for residents and students in/around Santa Rosa. Daily, classes, families, and residents enter the garden and learn from the on-site educators and the wonderful world of food production and wildlife habitat they have created. It is a communal place where people meet, work, eat, and learn about nutrition and ecology. The Garden host, Community Soil Foundation, has partnered thru the years with Mark West School District, Regional Parks, food banks, hospitals, businesses, and local government representatives to build critical health and environmental services for the community. In doing so, they have managed to adapt to the area's changing times, climate, and community needs- enduring three wildfires and a global pandemic. But these last two years have been especially difficult for Larkfield Garden.
Due to the Covid pandemic, we were forced to cancel classes, workshops, and the two annual fundraisers that provide crucial funding for our programs and staff. Larkfield Garden needs the community's support right now more than ever. Also, this is an opportunity to show our outdoor educators and farmers that we appreciate what they do for our community. Without them, we have no programs at Larkfield Garden. Please support these incredible workers and this vital community space by contributing what you can to help sustain it.
****On October 1, in the garden, we will host our big Fundraiser party for the first time since 2019. There will be music, food, libations, and great company. Hope you can attend!!
