I’m a combat veteran, a writer, and a man who’s walked through fire.

This offering was born from my own healing — and my need to pass it on.

A riverside rite of presence for men and others who carry weight.

This is not a retreat.

This is not therapy.

There’s no fee, no pitch, no performance.

Just presence, a rod, and a place to breathe.

What It Is

Out of the Fire, Into the Current is a free, one-day offering for veterans, men in burnout, and anyone navigating grief, trauma, or the slow recovery from a life that’s been too loud for too long.

Held by the river. Grounded in breath. Anchored in stillness.

We fish not to escape, but to remember.

Who It’s For

This was born from my story — a man, a veteran, coming out of the fire. So it’s especially for men like me.

But it’s not only for men.

If you carry something heavy and the river speaks to you, you’re welcome.

What the Day Looks Like

• Grounding breathwork — to arrive, fully.

• A quiet intention — “If the river could carry something from you today, what would it be?”

• Fishing in presence — no pressure to perform or talk.

• Warm drink + fire — space to connect or sit in silence.

• Closing — spoken or silent, you leave a little lighter.

This is not about solving. It’s about remembering who you are.

Why It Matters

In every culture, fishing was more than food — it was medicine. Ritual. A return.

This project revives that tradition, offering modern humans (especially veterans) a space to reconnect with something ancient, elemental, and healing.

Why I’m Asking for Support

Gear is expensive. Some of it needs to be tailored to the person.

I want to be able to offer rods, reels, packs, boots, and even travel costs — for free.

I’m not a guide. This isn’t for profit. Every cent goes toward making the experience possible for others.

I estimate Phase 1 (gear + supplies for 1-on-1 offerings) will take about €3,500 to do right.
