"And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me." Matthew 18:5
We are Mike and Sarah and our twin girls Abby and Sadie, who are now 3 and a half years old!! They were born on October 10, 2012 in Tucson, AZ. I remember like it was yesterday the phone call that we received from our attorney saying the the birth mom who selected us was in labor and we needed to get there fast! So as prepared as we could be, Mike and I jumped on the first flight we could and got to the hospital around 9:00 PM, West Coast time. Jet lagged and tired our adrenaline was rushing. We were going to meet our babies for the first time and meet the woman who brought them into this world. It was amazing and emotional! At that moment our lives changed forever and we would never look back!
We stayed in the hospital with our girls and cared for them like they were our own, knowing good and well that the birth mom could change her mind at any moment within those 3 days that we were there before she signed the paperwork for the adoption. When it was time for us to all be discharged from the hospital, we were required to pay the remaining balance of the attorney fees for the birth mom and our attorney, as well as all of her living expenses and medical bills--then we left with our two little girls, still without signed paperwork. It was the longest wait ever before we finally get the phone call an hour later that it was official and they were OURS! God had blessed us with so much more than we could have ever hoped for. All the trying and dissappointment and infertility drugs and surgeries, money lost and babies lost made that moment all worth the while!
“Because you got a double dose of trouble and more than your share of contempt, your inheritance in the land will be doubled and your joy go on forever” (Isaiah 61:7, The Message)

We were so excited to get home to our families and our friends and let them meet our daughters. We had to stay in AZ for 10 days until all of the adoption paperwork was approved in both AZ and FL before we could leave the state. It was great to have that one on one time with the girls, but we were ready to be home! We stayed in a hotel suite for 10 days with our girls, loving on them and getting to know them. We were learning to be parents. When we finally got the call that we were cleared to go home, again, we jumped on the next plane out of town to get back to Florida.

It was an extremely long day of traveling across the country to get back to Florida. We had connecting flights to catch, tons of luggage and all the baby stuff! The looks and glares we got for flying with two newborns was so upsetting. We even had strangers coming up to us telling us that we shouldnt be flying with them and asking us why would we do that. It was hard to hear, but they didnt know that we were just trying to get them home, (not taking a luxury vacation)!
Our parents met us at the airport as we landed with tears of joy in their eyes. It was such a huge joy to present our daughters to them and fill their arms with their granddaughters. Our hearts were so full that the heavy burden of the cost of our travels to get our girls, attorney bills and adoption fees were the last thing we were thinking about at that time. Why? Because God provided for us! We scrimpted and saved, borrowed and received loans, and God provided so that we could adopt!
There has not been a single day that goes by that we are not so in love and thankful for these two miracle babies! We thank God every single day for allowing us to be their parents and for the choice that their birth mother made on that day! We had a conversation with the birth mom, which when I recall it gives me chills and makes me cry, but she told us that she had has several abortions in the past and that she had planned to abort these babies as well. Luckily and by the grace of God, something stirred in her heart o seek out adoption. When she saw our profile she knew we were the right parents for these babies. I can't imagine our life without Abby and Sadie in it!
Adoption is such a blessing to so many; the birth family, the children, and the adoptive families. It has unfortunately become so expensive that it is hard to financially afford it. We are 3.5 years in and still owe a substancial amount on our adoption loan. We both work hard and work multiple jobs and are able to provide for our girls, but have an impeding weight, black cloud if you will, always hanging over our heads of this loan, (and the interest), for our adoption. We have been considering fostering and possibly adopting again, but do not want to add more pressure financially to our family.
We have been praying for an open door to get us through this financial burden and we were introduced to the GoFundMe service. We have witnessed many people and families get support from their friends, family and community through prayer and donations and sharing their story with others.
"Both riches and honor come from you. You rule over all. Power and strength are in Your hand. The power is in Your hand to make great and to give strength to all." I Chronicles 29:12
Your support to help us with our adoption and get that "black cloud" away from our beautiful rainbow babies would mean the world to us. Financial support, your positive thoughts and prayers and sharing our story to others are true blessings to us. God says that you will get double for your trouble! He has certainly blessed us with double!! But we also know that he will bless you with double too!
"And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me." Matthew 18:5

Thank you from us all! We are so humbled and thankful!! "May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
Sincerely,
Mike and Sarah
