Cyclone Gaja ripped through villages in the Cauvery Delta region in Tamil Nadu, India. Every farmer in my village and the neighboring villages lost there the livelihood - The Coconut Farm, Mango Farm, Jackfruit and Tamarind trees. Some of these trees were planted 50 years back by our grandparents so our parents and us can have a decent living. This Cyclone resets our life socially and economically. Short-Term goals including, clearing the fallen trees and debris from roads, streets, pathways, and give "accessibility" to everyone to the rest of the world. Making sure everyone mobile phone is charged and connected so they can call for help. Access to clean water at least once a day. One meal a day. An environment to get safe sleep a night, Access to medical help including bringing the people out of mental stress. Materials for the Short-Term Goals includes Chain Saw, Wood Chipper machine, Ropes, Safety Gloves (Woodwork), Mobile Phone Power Banks (Solar / Battery powered), Petrol Powered Generator to operate Water Pumps, Groceries, Food Materials, Mosquito nets, Mosquito Coils, Candles, Solar / Battery powered torch lights.
Long-Term Goals including bringing in Agricultural experts, scientist, experienced farmers, architects, builders, social advisors, and economic experts to create an all-inclusive think tank forum who can come up with the actionable and sustainable plan for "Our New Delta" which can adapt and withstand socially, economically with mother "Nature" for next 100 years and so.
Promote, Train and Create awareness about the "Our New Delta" plan with everyone in the Cauvery Delta Region
Execute the "Our New Delta" plan.
