On January 23, 2023 our beautiful strong fighter Dawn Aviles passed away after her long fight with Stage Four Ovarian Cancer. She battled for over four years, facing surgeries, chemo and daily struggles to find strength. Every day she found that strength in her children, Diana, Anthony, Vera and Rocco. She leaves them behind along with her beautiful grandbabies, Hayden, Theo, Anthony and Roman. With Vera and Rocco still in high school and looking towards bright futures we want to assist and ensure this is all still a possibility.

In May 2018 Dawn received upsetting news that she was diagnosed with Stage Four Ovarian Cancer at the age of 43. Since the diagnosis Dawn has been an absolute warrior in her fight against this awful disease: enduring chemotherapy, surgery in August 2018 and extreme pain. And still, the family all held out hope. After being cancer free for about a year, Christmas 2021 the cancer returned.

During the time since her diagnosis, Dawn was out of work alongside her two teenage children.

Ovarian Cancer is the most lethal gynecologic cancer. Less than one-half of patients survive for more than five years after diagnosis. Ovarian cancer affects women of all ages. Ovarian Cancer is likely to go undiagnosed and undetected until it has spread within the pelvis and abdomen. There is no early detection test, meaning that 75% of cases are diagnosed in the advanced stages.
