Help My Family Escape the Devastation of War
My name is Alaa A Alabadla. I write these words amidst the relentless sounds of missiles and rockets raining down on our city, transforming our once peaceful lives into an unbearable nightmare. I humbly reach out for your support to help my family escape this unimaginable reality and rebuild our lives
I am married of seven years and a father to three beautiful children: Ghada (6), Hanan (4), and Sila (3). Despite the challenges, I have always worked hard to provide them with a safe and loving home. I graduated in 2012 with a degree in financial accounting, and when I couldn’t find work locally, I taught myself programming and started earning a living online.
But everything changed on October 7th. The war began, and with it came power outages, interrupted internet access, and the destruction of our home. We were forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on our backs. My family and I now live in a fragile tent alongside my elderly parents, enduring harsh conditions that are far from humane.
Our tent offers little protection from the blistering heat of summer, the freezing cold of winter, or the rain that seeps through daily
. My father, 63, suffers from diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. He has undergone two heart procedures and urgently needs proper care. My mother, also diabetic, struggles to prepare food over firewood in these unbearable conditions, risking her health every day.
My children have lost their childhood. They no longer have access to school, play, or safety. Ghada has yet to write her first letter in what should have been her first year of school. Their future, like ours, hangs in the balance.
I am desperately seeking your help to evacuate my family from Gaza and secure a new start in a safe place. The cost of travel approvals and transportation is staggering, estimated at $50,000 per person—an impossible sum for us. Any funds raised will first go toward evacuation and securing safety for my family. Beyond that, we hope to rebuild our lives, provide education for my children, and access vital medical care for my parents.
Your donation, no matter the amount, will be a lifeline for us. It will help us escape the daily threat of death and give my children the chance to grow up in peace. If you cannot donate, sharing our story widely would mean the world to us.
This is a plea for survival. With your kindness, we can leave this life of fear and uncertainty behind and take steps toward a safe and hopeful future. Thank you for standing with us in this time of desperate need.
