Our Journey to Baby C

Hey All!

If you don’t know us, we are the Crosby’s! We have been married for almost 8 years and have two (very) handsome teenage boys, Logan (16) and Gavan (14). We love our little family but we really want to feel complete with a sweet babe of own, together. 

We started our IVF journey in 2018 after several years of no success. For our first egg retrieval, we got TWENTY eggs!! That’s amazing and we were so excited! After they were fertilized and matured however, we only ended up with four embryos. But it only takes one right??

So our first round we did a fresh transfer (with two embryos) which resulted in a “chemical” pregnancy. My HCG was 28 and should’ve been around 50. So we waited 48 hours and it only went up to 37. It’s supposed to double every 48 hours. Then we waited the whole weekend and tested again Monday morning… those results were 19…. Failed.

They froze both of our remaining embabies together so we had to transfer them both the second time. So our second round we did a FET (frozen embryo transfer) which failed completely. My HCG was a big fat 0! **queue devastation**

After a few years “off,”  we are ready to try again! We made a decision to switch doctors though, for many reasons.

Our new doctor comes highly recommended and is about an hour and forty five minutes away from where we live. So we will be doing a LOT of driving! And, while we have saved a lot for this procedure, there are other factors involved now. I’ve come here to try to help cover costs for medications (which have increased a ton!) driving (we all know about gas prices these days), possible hotel stays and any unexpected costs that may come up since insurance doesn’t cover any fertility treatments.
