Hi friends and family of Michael Herbertson, I’m Kellie; long-time friend of Michael’s. I’m here to first tell you that Michael is home and recovering, but he needs our help. He was very resistant to me doing this, but here I am asking because I love him and he’s been a dear friend to so many!

On Friday, November 21st, Michael was attacked and robbed of everything, including his wallet and his livelihood... his camera. A woman who saw it called 911, and he spent the weekend in the hospital; getting out this morning when he contacted me.

As you know, Michael is a photographer; he does freelance street photography and works for the Associated Press. His camera is his livelihood. On top of that, he lost over 2k in other assets and is supposed to be moving to Venice this weekend. They took everything he had on him... even his shoes. Doctors say he’s lucky they didn’t snap his neck. He’s in a lot of pain but should physically recover completely.

Michael has been my friend since HS, and I’ve been fortunate enough to stay connected. He’s done photography for my husband and me and is just the greatest guy who cares about his community.

If you’re able to help him by any amount of a donation, an uplifting message to his FB (as he does not have any phone or contacts), and/or share so others can offer a little support... I’d be so grateful to see him feel loved and get back on his feet.

His body is hurt and will heal. Let’s restore his faith in humanity and get him some financial support to recover and get back to work and moved.
