Our friend Gerry needs our help!

Hello, this fundraiser is for my good friend and colleague, Gerry Cillo, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

I’ve worked with Gerry for nearly 13 years and have found him to be one of the sincerest, kindhearted people I’ve ever met, with a wholesome and positive attitude.

Gerry and his wife, Noreen, share three beautiful children, Nick, Megan, and Noah, whom he loves to talk about. You can see how proud he is of each one of his kids when he shares news of their latest milestones, accomplishments, and all the things they look forward to.

While the origins of Gerry’s cancer is still unknown, he and his health care team have decided to treat with chemotherapy. We hope the therapy will slow down, shrink the cancer, and help our friend get back to good health. The next few months will be unimaginably challenging as he continues treatment and his fight to beat cancer.

I’ve never known Gerry to ask for anything to be handed out to him, but the reality is that he will be unable to work in his usual capacity for the next few months–his projected treatment period. As a healthcare professional who loves coming to work and sharing his compassion and love for life with patients and colleagues, this means a near-complete halt to his career and livelihood. Gerry recently shared his cancer diagnosis with his community and was blown away by all the support he received from family, friends, strangers and fellow healthcare workers.

This GoFundMe was started with those well-wishers in mind, in hopes that this beautiful community surrounding Gerry will continue to show up for him. All donations will be used for the many medical bills that lie ahead and to supplement his lost income. I also plan to share updates on his treatment and health progress regularly.
